A major revelation has emerged in the investigation into alleged extortion threats sent by the Bishnoi gang to Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s brother-in-law and actor Ayush Sharma, as well as actor Ranveer Singh.

According to sources, the Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Crime Branch has found that the gang used Proton Mail to send a threatening email to Ayush Sharma, while a Virtual Private Network (VPN) was used to send threats to Ranveer Singh. Investigators have discovered that tracing the location of the Proton Mail and VPN has proved extremely difficult, as their digital locations keep changing frequently.

During the probe, server locations were found to be showing overseas, but they were not static at one place. This indicates that the Bishnoi gang allegedly made deliberate attempts to conceal their identity while issuing the threats.

Sources further revealed that a threat demanding ₹1 crore as extortion was sent to Ranveer Singh’s manager through a WhatsApp voice note. The Crime Branch recorded the statement of Ranveer Singh’s manager two days ago. However, no FIR has been registered in the matter so far, and the investigation is currently being conducted based on the complaint received.

On the other hand, no formal police complaint has yet been filed by Ayush Sharma regarding the threat email. Nevertheless, after the information came to light, the Crime Branch has initiated a parallel inquiry at its own level, as the sender of the email claimed to be associated with the Bishnoi gang.

A senior police officer stated that the investigation is underway, but as of now, only a complaint has been received from Ranveer Singh’s side. In other related matters, the police are conducting inquiries independently.
