A rare incident came to light in Mumbai when a stray buffalo struck a biker on the busy road. The incident was reported in Nalasopara East on Monday morning, March 9, and the video of it went viral on social media sites. On Monday morning at around 10.30 am, a stray animal reportedly knocked down a biker in the Santosh Bhavan area of Nalasopara East. However, the unidentified bike rider received minor injuries.

In a 1.50-second viral video, a buffalo can be seen suddenly running towards a scooty and knocking it down and its rider and further tries to go after him, but the rider escapes. Chaos and panic can be seen among shopkeepers and onlookers in the area. The aggressive male buffalo then ran on the other side of the road and veered off into the shop, smashing the wall of the shop, which led to major destruction.

The movement of stray animals on roads in several parts of the Vasai–Virar region of Palghar district has increased in recent months. It is reported that cattle owners milk their animals daily, but are often seen leaving them loose in the city throughout the day. As a result, these animals roam freely on roads across several areas under the Vasai–Virar Municipal Corporation.

Such incidents have been reported in places including Vasai village, Papadi, Umele Road, the Gokhivare area in Vasai East, Vasantnagari, Kaman, Chinchoti, as well as Santosh Bhavan in Nalasopara East and other nearby localities. In many cases, animals sit in the middle of the road, which sometimes causes traffic jams.
