Samajwadi Party candidate Amreen Shehzan registered a win from Ward No. 212 of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). A closely fought contest was witnessed in Ward 212, where Shehzan defeated her nearest rival, Geeta Ajay Gawli duather of Arun Gawli and Akhil Bharatiya Sena candidate, by a margin of 2,025 votes. A total of 21,872 eligible voters are in the ward.
Shehzan is a resident of Mumbai Central (East), and her win has strengthened the Samajwadi Party’s presence in Ward 212. She secured 8,848 votes, while Geeta Ajay Gawli received 6,823 votes. Nazia Siddiqui of the Indian National Congress (INC) received 3,257 votes.

Shravani Haldankar of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) secured 1,938 votes, Smita Santosh Salvi of the Sambhaji Brigade Party got 558 votes, independent candidate Muskan Meraj Sheikh received 91 votes, while 357 votes were polled in favour of NOTA.
The defeat of Geeta Gawli is being seen as a setback to the political influence and former gangster Arun Gawli in Ward No. 212.
