The Central Railway is working on the Igatpuri-CSMT section of the Mumbai Division. The Central Railway’s General Manager Dharam Veer Meena, inspected the site on March 23. The goal of this visit was to inspect work on the 3rd and 4th line, between Kalyan and Kasara and Kalyan Yard remodeling. This project aims to enhance passenger convenience and make train operations more efficient.
Taking to X he posted, “Conducted a safety inspection of the Igatpuri-CSMT section of Mumbai Division today. Reviewed safety, infrastructure works,& passenger amenities at Igatpuri, Asangaon, Kalyan & Dadar Station,en-route bridges, LHS & LC gates. Engaged with staff, emphasizing safe train operations.”
This project is being worked on in different phases. The railway is planning to conclude the work by 2027. Once this project concludes, separate corridors for long-distance and local trains will be available. As of now, these trains run on the same corridor. Hence, if any long-distance train reaches Kasara during the rush hour it will be regulated in this new section to clear the rush of local trains. The rush causes delay. After completion of the 3rd and 4th lines, this problem between Kalyan and Kasara will be solved.

Dharam Veer Meena inspected the remodelling and segregation work of Kalyan Yard. After the completion of this project, the peak hour train rush at Kalyan will reduce and the punctuality of suburban trains will improve. Due to the peak hour rush, services at Kalyan are affected daily.
Apart from this inspection, Dharam Veer Meena also inspected the Kalyan Railway Hospital. He also inaugurated New Course Content and renovated cthe lassroom of the Advanced Training Centre located at Kalyan.
