Mumbai, Maharashtra (July 16, 2025): An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa made an emergency landing at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Wednesday night after a technical snag was detected mid-air.

According to the reports, the flight, numbered 6E 6271, had taken off from Delhi around 8 pm and was en route to Manohar International Airport in Goa. During the flight, a technical issue was identified and, following standard procedures, the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai where it landed safely at 9.42 pm. No injuries were reported, and all passengers are safe.

In a statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said, “A technical snag was detected on flight 6E 6271 while flying from Delhi to Manohar International Airport, Goa on 16 July 2025. Following procedures, the aircraft was diverted and landed in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.”

The airline added that the aircraft would undergo checks and maintenance before it resumes operations. “While the aircraft will undergo necessary checks and maintenance before resuming operations, an alternative aircraft has been arranged for completing the journey, which will depart shortly with the customers. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers due to this unforeseen situation. At IndiGo, safety and security of the customers, crew and aircraft is of utmost importance,” the spokesperson said.
