In a joint operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell and Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained two young men from Kurla and Khadavli areas for their alleged links with Pakistan’s ISI and the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed. Both suspects have been taken to Delhi for further investigation.

According to sources, Jaish-e-Mohammed had allegedly devised a plan to carry out a major sabotage operation using toy cars in Delhi. The detained individuals were reportedly aware of this plot, prompting authorities to act against them. During the operation, police seized mobile phones, electronic devices, and some incriminating documents from their possession.

Investigations revealed that the terror outfit had become active in planning large-scale attacks in Mumbai and Delhi in the coming days, with alleged support from Pakistan’s ISI. The group was reportedly recruiting local youths from both cities to execute the plan using toy cars as part of the operation.

The Delhi Special Cell had received intelligence inputs indicating that some youths from Kurla and Khadavli were in contact with suspected terrorists and were following their instructions. This information was shared with the Maharashtra ATS, following which a special team from Delhi arrived in Mumbai. Acting on the inputs, a joint operation was conducted, leading to the detention of the two suspects for questioning.

Police have recovered two mobile phones, electronic equipment, and objectionable documents, which reportedly confirm their contact with suspected terror operatives. After being formally arrested, the accused were shifted to Delhi for further legal proceedings.

Officials believe that several more youths may be linked to the suspects. The ATS has placed such individuals under surveillance and is closely monitoring their activities. Action is expected at an appropriate time, sources said. However, Maharashtra ATS has not issued any official statement regarding the operation.

Meanwhile, investigators anticipate significant revelations during the interrogation of the arrested individuals. It is suspected that Jaish-e-Mohammed had set up a special unit to carry out attacks in Mumbai and Delhi. A special operation has now been launched by the Delhi team in coordination with Maharashtra ATS to track down other members of the network.
