'Don't Spare Them': Mumbai Police Constable Names ASI in Suicide Note Sent to Wife on WhatsApp

Subhash Kangne, the son-in-law of Suresh Sanap, a resident of the Vivekanandanagar area in Nashik district of Maharashtra and posted at the Kurar Village police station in Malad East area of Mumbai, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Goregaon. The incident came to light after 37-year-old police constable Subhash wrote a two-page note before taking an extreme step and sent it to his wife in Manmad via WhatsApp. Subhash’s family refused to take possession of the body until action was taken against those responsible for his death.

The police commissioner promised an inquiry, and a case has been registered at the Dindoshi police station in Malad. Subhash is survived by his wife, Jayashree, their two-and-a-half-year-old twin daughters, a brother, and a sister.  Subhash, who was orphaned at a young age, was raised by his uncle. Originally from Mukhed in Yeola taluka, Subhash’s body was brought to his in-laws' house in Manmad, where his family expressed outrage. His last rites were performed in Manmad.

What is Written in the Suicide Note?

Before committing suicide, Subhash sent a note to his wife. In the note, he mentioned that he had been defamed by an application filed in his name by Assistant Sub-Inspector Surve. He urged his wife not to spare those responsible for his death. Subhash also apologized to his wife, Jayashree, asking her to take care of their two children and his younger brother.
