The Mumbai Police have intensified security measures after a social media post warned of possible Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts in the Dongri area during Eid. The post alleged that illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani infiltrators could be involved in such activities. Authorities have begun investigating the matter.
According to police sources, the post surfaced on Thursday around 11 AM on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The user, while tagging the Navi Mumbai Police's X account, wrote:
"Mumbai Police should remain vigilant. During Eid on March 31–April 1, 2025, some illegal Rohingya/Bangladeshi/Pakistani infiltrators residing in areas like Dongri may incite Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts!"
As soon as the Navi Mumbai Police received this alert, they immediately informed the Mumbai Police control room. Following this, Mumbai Police increased patrolling in the Dongri area to ensure security.
Police sources confirmed that a search operation was conducted in the Dongri locality, but no suspicious activity was found. Meanwhile, the cyber cell is actively tracing the person who posted the threat using advanced technical methods.
The Mumbai Police have assured citizens that strict measures are in place to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain law and order in the city.
