Mumba, Maharashtra (April 8, 2025): Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. The induction took place at the party headquarters on Marine Drive in the presence of Maharashtra Minister and BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

Jadhav, 40, announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on June 3, 2024. He played 73 One Day Internationals for India, scoring 1,389 runs and taking 27 wickets. He was also a key player for Maharashtra in domestic cricket and represented multiple franchises in the Indian Premier League, including Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Jadhav is best remembered for his 120-run knock off 76 balls against England in Pune in 2017. He had a prolific 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season, scoring 1,223 runs at an average of 87.35, which earned him a spot in the national team.

Jadhav played for multiple IPL franchises, including Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also represented the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2010.
