Comedian Samay Raina and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber office in Mumbai on Tuesday to record their statements in connection with a case filed against them. The case alleges they promoted obscenity and vulgar content on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent.

Earlier, Raina had also recorded his statement with the Guwahati Crime Branch. Guwahati Joint Commissioner of Police Ankur Jain confirmed the development. Others linked to the show, including YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and influencer Apoorva Mukhija, have also been questioned by the Guwahati police.

The controversy erupted after Allahbadia, known as "BeerBiceps," made a comment in a recent episode of India’s Got Latent, featuring comedian Samay Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija.  During the show, he asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?"  The video was later removed from YouTube after the government issued a notice.  His comments quickly went viral and were met with widespread criticism on social media.

In response, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting his remarks were inappropriate and lacked humor. "My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry," Allahbadia said. He also addressed concerns about his influence on younger audiences, pledging to use his platform more responsibly moving forward. "Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect," he added.

The investigation into India’s Got Latent continues.
