The Mumbai Police's Jagrut Mumbaikar Awareness Program in Prerna Hall, which is close to Azad Maidan, on April 15. Over 100 people attended the event. The program sought to provide Mumbai residents with fundamental information on crime prevention, legal awareness, and public safety. The participants got knowledge on a variety of subjects, such as traffic laws, crimes against women and children, and cyber safety. Various Mumbai Police initiatives and public helpline numbers were shared with people during the event.
Taking to X, Mumbai Police shared all the details of the events. The X post read, “Jagrut Mumbaikar Awareness Program was organised at Prerna Hall near Azad Maidan on 15th April 2025. 113 attendees were educated about Cyber safety, Traffic rules, crime against women and children, various initiatives & helplines of Mumbai Police. Along with this, they were informed about the new BNS laws, the ill effects of Drug use, and cyber crimes. Doctors, the Chief Security Officer, security officers & staff, officials of the QRT & BDDS squad were present during the session.”
A special focus was given to raising awareness of the growing threat of cybercrime, the hazards of drug usage, and the recently enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) laws. Experts who shared their knowledge and responded to questions included medical professionals, the Chief Security Officer, security guards, and members of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and Quick Response Team (QRT).

The campaign is a component of Mumbai Police's broader endeavour to develop a population that is aware and vigilant. Along with educating Mumbaikars on the rules, the program seeks to increase their awareness of cyber fraud and other crimes.
