Three FIRs filed against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra for allegedly mocking Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in a satirical song have been transferred to the Khar Police. These cases originate from Nashik Rural, Jalgaon, and Nashik (Nandgaon). Kamra was already booked at the Khar Police Station based on a complaint filed by Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Murji Patel.

Three  Cases  Transferred  to  KharPolice

Following a complaint by Mayur Borse, city chief of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in Manmad, the local police had registered a case against Kamra. This case has now been handed over to the Khar Police. Kamra is accused of defaming Eknath Shinde and inciting animosity between two political parties. Similarly, an FIR filed by Sanjay Digambar Bhujbal, Jalgaon city chief of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), has also been transferred to Mumbai Police.

Another case was registered in Nandgaon (Nashik) based on a complaint by hotel businessman Sunil Shankar Jadhav. This too has been merged with the other FIRs under Khar Police’s jurisdiction. Along with the existing FIR lodged at Khar Police Station on Murji Patel’s complaint, all these cases will now be investigated collectively.

According to police officials, the cases stem from Kamra’s satirical song performed during a stand-up comedy show in Khar. Since the alleged incident took place within Khar Police Station's jurisdiction, all related complaints have been transferred there for further investigation.

Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Murji Patel lodged a complaint stating that on March 23, he received a link on his mobile phone from a party worker. The link contained a video clip of Kamra’s stand-up comedy performance at Continental Hotel, Road No. 03, Khar West, Mumbai.

In the video, Kamra allegedly made derogatory remarks about Shiv Sena and its leader Eknath Shinde. He performed a satirical song referencing a "leader from Thane district," which, according to the complaint, was aimed at creating animosity between two political parties.

The complaint also alleges that Kamra made defamatory statements about Eknath Shinde’s moral conduct despite knowing that he is the Deputy Chief Minister. It further states that Kamra’s remarks tarnished the reputation of the party and incited hostility between rival political groups.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation will now be conducted by the Khar Police, consolidating all the complaints against Kamra.
