Shiv Sena UBT candidate Milind Vaidhya won from Ward No. 182. Vaidhya, a former mayor and known as a close aide of Uddhav Thackeray, secured his fourth consecutive victory in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Elections (BMC) 2026.
The main contest in the ward was between Vaidhya and BJP candidate Rajan Parkar. Another candidate with the same name, Milind Vaidhya, had contested as an independent. Despite this, the Shiv Sena UBT candidate emerged victorious. Milind Vaidhya secured 14,248 votes, while Rajan Parkar received 4,394 votes, giving Vaidhya a comfortable win by a wide margin.
Voting for 29 municipal corporations in the state, including Mumbai and Thane, was held on January 15 and the counting of votes is underway. The BJP and Shinde Shiv Sena alliance have taken a big lead, while the Thackeray brothers are likely to suffer a big setback.
