A major road accident was reported in the early hours of Wednesday after a car crashed near the Silver Park locality in Mira Road at around 3 am on April 8. Authorities have not yet issued any official statement regarding injuries or fatalities. However, visuals circulating widely on social media suggest that the collision was severe. The footage indicates that the impact was strong enough to cause significant structural damage to the vehicle, raising immediate concern among residents and online viewers about the circumstances that led to the crash and the possible condition of those involved.

According to information shared by the social media handle ‘dcn_mumbai’, the incident allegedly took place when the driver of a black Honda car lost control while coming down from an elevated bridge. The vehicle appears to have veered off course and struck a divider, where it remained partially stuck. Images from the scene show that the rear section of the car suffered extensive damage, suggesting that the force of the collision was concentrated at the back. In contrast, the upper portion, including the windshield and windows, seems comparatively less affected.

The visuals from the crash site have quickly gone viral, drawing attention from both local residents and netizens. Many have raised concerns about reckless driving, especially during late-night hours when roads are relatively empty and drivers may be tempted to speed. The incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with elevated roads and sharp descents, where maintaining control of a vehicle becomes crucial. Despite the widespread attention, officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the accident or whether factors such as overspeeding or mechanical failure played a role.

This accident comes shortly after another tragic incident reported in Kandivali West, where a seven-year-old girl lost her life after being run over by a dumper truck. The victim has been identified as Rutika Chauhan. Police have taken swift action in the case and arrested the driver of the dumper, identified as 45-year-old Pappu Patel. The back-to-back nature of these incidents has raised fresh concerns regarding road safety and adherence to traffic rules in busy suburban areas.

According to police officials, the fatal accident occurred near Oscar Hospital at Charkop Naka between 12:30 pm and 1 pm. The young girl, a student of a BMC school located behind the hospital, was reportedly on her way to attend classes. While attempting to cross the road alone, she was allegedly struck by the dumper truck. The vehicle ran over her, causing fatal injuries, particularly to her head. Eyewitnesses described the impact as extremely severe, leaving people at the scene deeply shaken.

Following the incident, local residents immediately rushed to help and informed the police. The child was quickly taken to a nearby medical facility, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Her body was later shifted to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali West for post-mortem examination. The Charkop police have registered a case against the driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to causing death by negligence and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The accused is currently in police custody.

With multiple serious road incidents being reported within a short span of time, concerns about traffic discipline and enforcement have once again come to the forefront. Citizens and authorities alike are questioning whether enough measures are being taken to prevent such tragedies. There is growing demand for stricter monitoring, better infrastructure safeguards, and increased awareness, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours when reduced traffic often leads to risky driving behaviour.
