The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) house was echoed with 'Modi, Modi' chants ahead of the commencement of the process of Mumbai mayoral elections on Wednesday, February 11. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is also present.
After 44 years, a BJP mayor is set to be elected as mayor of BMC after Mahayuti led BJP got a majority in the recently concluded BMC elections. The Mahayuti mayor and deputy mayor will take charge at the BMC house in the city.
BJP women corporators wearing saffron turban, thump their hands on the bench of the BMC house and erupt with 'Modi, Modi' chant. On the other hand, in response to the 'Modi, Modi' chants, Shiv Sena UBT corporators also shouted 'Thackeray, Thackeray' slogans on Wednesday, expressing their loyalty to their party and its leader.
