A shocking incident has come to light from the Kohinoor City area in Kurla, where a 19-year-old domestic help was allegedly assaulted and unlawfully confined by her employers. Even more disturbing, the employers allegedly pressured the young woman to lodge a false rape complaint against their former driver. Based on the victim’s complaint, the Vinoba Bhave Nagar Police have registered a case against the husband and wife.

The victim, a 19-year-old native of West Bengal, had been working for the past two months as a domestic help and caretaker for a young child at the residence of a businessman in Kohinoor City, Kurla. According to the complaint, on January 21, around 2 pm, the employer’s wife allegedly assaulted the girl for giving candy to her children. When the victim attempted to go to the police station to report the assault, the employer and his wife allegedly stopped her and confined her inside a room for about an hour.

The ordeal continued on January 23, when around 4 pm, the couple allegedly assaulted and abused her again. The accused then allegedly forced the young woman to file a false police complaint against their former driver, who had quit his job. She was allegedly made to repeatedly rehearse a false statement claiming that the driver, identified as Shayan, had raped her and stolen ₹9 lakh from the house.

In the early hours of January 24, around 3 am, the accused took the young woman to the police station. However, she revealed the truth to the police, stating that the driver had never sexually assaulted her and that her employers had beaten her and pressured her to file a false complaint.

Based on her statement, the police have registered a case against the husband and wife under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 127(2) (wrongful confinement), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police Sub-Inspector Abhijit Tanaji Nevse is conducting further investigation into the matter.
