A 20-year-old college student died after jumping from the terrace of her residential building in Matunga. The incident took place at Techno Heights, a 14-storey building where she lived on the 8th floor with her family. Police reports suggest that she had been battling depression for the past few days. Matunga police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the matter.

 

 

According to sources, the student had been suffering from depression for some time. On Tuesday night, two of her friends visited her at home. She took them to the terrace, where they tried to console her. However, in an unexpected and shocking turn of events, she suddenly jumped off the terrace, leaving her friends in deep shock and distress.

 

After jumping from the terrace, she hit a window of a neighboring building before falling about 15 feet into the compound area. She suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion, where doctors declared her brought dead. She was a student of a reputed college in South Mumbai.

 

Upon receiving information about the incident, Matunga police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem at Lokmanya Tilak Hospital. Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Pawar stated that the deceased had been dealing with depression, which may have led her to take this extreme step.

 

The police have taken statements from her two friends, who were present during the incident. However, due to the severe shock, they are unable to provide detailed information. The police are also examining CCTV footage to ascertain the sequence of events. Security guards and other possible witnesses are also being questioned to gather more details.

 

This tragic incident has left her family and friends in deep sorrow. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident.
