The Amboli Police have successfully cracked a house burglary case involving stolen valuables worth approximately ₹50 lakh from the residence of a senior businessman in Andheri. Three habitual offenders have been arrested in connection with the crime.

The arrested accused have been identified as Suryamani Nadar, Jaywant Charsing Pawar and Surya Kadvi Mudaliyar.

According to police officials, the burglary took place between February 7 and February 10, 2026, at a flat located in Four Bungalows, GBS Teacher Colony, Andheri. The 65-year-old complainant, who runs a vintage car business, resides there with his family. His elder son lives in Canada, while his younger son stays in Delhi.

On February 7 at around 3 pm, the complainant and his wife left for Jaipur to book a palace venue for their younger son’s wedding. The flat was locked before they left. A spare key had been given to their employee, Sunil Kamble, who would open the house for the domestic help and lock it again after her work was completed.

On February 10 at around 11:45 am, when Kamble visited the flat, he discovered signs of a break-in. An unidentified person had allegedly broken the window grill to gain entry. The house was ransacked and the locks of all four cupboards were found broken. The complainant was immediately informed, following which he and his wife returned to Mumbai from Jaipur.

Upon inspection, diamond-studded ornaments, gold jewellery, an expensive watch and other valuables worth nearly ₹50 lakh were found missing. A complaint was subsequently lodged at Amboli Police Station, and a case of housebreaking was registered against unknown persons.

During the investigation, police analysed CCTV footage and technical data from the area, which led them to detain Surya Mudaliyar. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the burglary along with his accomplices, Suryamani Nadar and Jaywant Pawar. All three were later arrested.

Police officials stated that further interrogation is underway and efforts are being made to recover the stolen property at the earliest.
