A 30-year-old woman, working as a fashion designer, was allegedly molested and assaulted by three men in a residential society in the Santacruz area following a dispute over parking. The incident has raised serious concerns over residents' safety in housing societies. Vakola Police have registered a case against the accused trio and have initiated an investigation.
According to police, the complainant is a married woman residing with her husband in a housing society in Santacruz’s Vakola locality. The woman is a fashion designer by profession, while her husband is a player in the Indian football team.
On Tuesday, the couple had planned to go out. When the woman attempted to take her car out from the parking area, she found that another resident had parked his car in a way that blocked her vehicle. Despite repeated requests through the society's security guard and multiple phone calls, the car owner did not move his vehicle.
Frustrated, the woman personally went to the accused's flat to speak to him. At this point, the situation escalated. The man and his two sons allegedly assaulted the woman and molested her. She was reportedly pushed, dragged by her hair, and verbally abused. The trio also allegedly hurled abuses and threats at her husband when he intervened.
Following the incident, the woman approached Vakola Police Station and lodged a formal complaint. Acting on her statement, police registered an FIR against all three accused under sections related to assault, molestation, and criminal intimidation.
Police have stated that an inquiry is currently underway and the accused will be summoned for questioning. Arrests are expected to follow based on the findings of the investigation.
