A 30-year-old man died by suicide by jumping into the sea from the Coastal Road-Sea Link Connector in Worli after parking his car on the bridge. His body was recovered from the waters near the sea bridge on Wednesday. The Worli Police have registered an Accidental Death Report(ADR) and are investigating the matter. The deceased was a resident of Malad, but the exact reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained.

According to police, a car was found parked near pole number 80 of the connector that links the Coastal Road to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link around 8 PM on Tuesday. Upon reviewing CCTV footage, the police found that a person had jumped into the sea from that spot. A search operation was launched with the help of boats, but due to darkness, no trace of the man was found that night.

Later, police traced the car registration details and identified the man as Darsheet Seth (30), a resident of Malad. Following this, Police Inspector Nitin Shinde and the Worli Mobile Van No. 1 team reached the site for further investigation.

On Wednesday, authorities received information that a body was seen floating near the Sea Link Landing Point. A police team was dispatched, and after confirming the presence of the body, the fire brigade and an ambulance were called to the spot. The fire brigade retrieved the body and rushed it to Nair Hospital at Mumbai Central, where doctors confirmed that he had died several hours earlier.

Senior Police Inspector of Worli Police Station, Ravindra Katkar, informed that the person who jumped into the sea has been identified, and his family has been notified. The reasons behind the suicide are currently being investigated. The police are conducting a detailed inquiry into the matter.

However, no suicide note has been recovered so far. Investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the suicide.

Married  Just  Four  Months  Ago

Darsheet Rajubhai Seth was a graduate and worked at a private firm in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex). He had married just four months ago and lived in Malad with his wife and mother. He also had a married sister residing in the same locality.

On Tuesday evening, after leaving work, he took the Bandra-Worli Sea Link to reach Worli. He stopped his car at the point where the Sea Link connects to the Coastal Road, stood there for a while, and then jumped into the sea.

Police are continuing their probe to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
