A shocking case has come to light where a 41-year-old woman was blackmailed for ₹10 lakh using an obscene video. The accused allegedly shared the woman's photos and video clips in a Facebook group. Following the woman's complaint, the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station has registered a case against the accused under charges of extortion, rape, and defamation. The police are currently investigating the matter.

The victim, a private company employee residing in Sion, met the accused in 2023. Their acquaintance began on February 16, 2023, when they traveled together in a private taxi. Over time, the accused attempted to get closer to her. On March 23, 2023, he allegedly drugged her by offering fruit juice and sexually assaulted her in a building within the N.M. Joshi Marg police jurisdiction. During the incident, the accused secretly recorded obscene photos and videos of the victim.

Following this, the accused continued to assault the woman multiple times, threatening to harm her child. Using this threat, he extorted ₹10 lakh from her. Later, he reportedly shared her explicit photos and videos on certain obscene groups on Facebook. Upon discovering this, the woman initially approached the Worli Police Station to file a complaint.

The Worli Police registered a case under BNS Sections 308(2), 351(2), 356(2), 64, and 64(2)(M). However, as the crime took place within the jurisdiction of the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station, the case was transferred there. The police have registered a case against the accused, a resident of Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, and are currently searching for him.
