A five-year-old boy died of suspected suffocation after he was accidentally trapped inside his father's car while playing in Mumbai's Mulund area. According to a Mid-Day based report, the boy, identified as Kabir Kanojiya, was reportedly playing with his father near their family-owned paan shop in the MHADA colony. According to relatives, Kabir had asked to use the restroom and his father, Arjun Kanojiya, fell asleep inside the shop. When he woke up, he noticed Kabir was missing.
After searching the vicinity, Arjun discovered his son unconscious inside a Honda City parked near the shop. The boy had been trapped inside the car for over two hours and was rushed to Veer Savarkar Hospital, where he was declared dead. The police suspect that Kabir entered the car around 3 pm and was unable to open the door from inside.
Kabir, a resident of Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Navghar, and not yet attending school, often played in a car parked near his father's shop, which also had a nearby garage. The police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are awaiting post-mortem results to determine the cause of death.
