A tragic road accident in Mumbai’s Chandivali area has claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, with police stating that a 17-year-old minor—who had recently arrived from Dubai for the Eid holidays—was involved in the incident. According to the Mumbai Police, the accident occurred when an SUV allegedly rammed into a scooter carrying two teenagers. The impact proved fatal for the pillion rider, identified as Pratik Mane, while the rider sustained injuries.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the SUV had been rented by a friend of the minor. Authorities believe the vehicle was being driven recklessly at the time of the crash. The exact sequence of events leading up to the collision is still under investigation.

Police officials confirmed that the minor involved in the case is being dealt with under provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. The individual who rented the SUV is also likely to face legal action, particularly if negligence in handing over the vehicle to an underage driver is established.
