The body of a newborn was discovered in a toilet trash at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Tuesday, March 25. In order to find the person who abandoned the infant, the Sahar authorities opened an investigation and filed a charge against an unidentified suspect, said the police last week. Days after the body of a newborn was found in a trash can at Mumbai Airport, a mother and her 16-year-old daughter were reported as suspects by the Sahar police. The girl was seven months pregnant and miscarried at the airport. Her mother then disposed of the foetus, the authorities said. The authorities tried hard to trace the suspect, and they reviewed airport CCTV footage, airline records, and passenger details.

After the two returned to Mumbai, the authorities issued a notice after tracking them down in Ranchi. Police studied CCTV footage that showed the two of them going into a bathroom, and the girl looked distressed. The mother and daughter were taken to the police station upon their arrival back in Mumbai on Saturday, where they both confessed to the crime. According to reports, the minor became pregnant after being raped by a man from Palghar. The accused has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and is currently being investigated.
The lifeless body was reported at around 10.30 pm and transported to Cooper Hospital for further investigation. The miscarriage was confirmed by the minor's medical assessment, and legal notices have been filed. Staff at the airport found the baby's body on March 25. According to reports, the accused male and the girl, who lived in north Mumbai, had a relationship. The girl's health issue caused the unfortunate event, even though the family had planned to travel to Ranchi to attend a ceremony.
