A shocking incident has come to light from Subhash Nagar MHADA Colony in Bhandup West, where a 38-year-old mathadi worker allegedly attempted suicide after suffering heavy losses in the stock market.

According to information received, the victim, identified as Manoj Chandrakant Bhosale, shot himself in the neck with a country-made pistol between 4:30 am and 5:15 am on Thursday, while he was on the staircase of his residential building. Sources revealed that Manoj had invested a substantial amount in the stock market and had been under severe mental stress due to the financial losses he incurred.

At the time of the incident, Manoj was reportedly heading downstairs from his flat (Flat No. 705) along with his wife and children when he suddenly pulled out the pistol, which he had concealed in his waistband, and shot himself in the throat. Hearing the sound of the gunshot, his wife, Shubhangi Manoj Bhosale, immediately rushed to his aid and alerted the local police. Shubhangi, who witnessed the incident firsthand, later recorded her statement with the police, based on which a case has been registered.

Manoj was rushed to Fortis Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the police have seized the country-made firearm, which has been recorded with a declared value of zero rupees, and launched an investigation to trace its origin. Senior Inspector Dattatray Khandagale of Bhandup Police Station confirmed that further inquiries are underway to determine how the victim acquired the weapon.

This tragic incident once again highlights the devastating impact financial loss and mental stress can have on an individual’s life.
