Mumbai: BMC Chief Bhushan Gagrani Directs Completion of Road Projects Before Monsoon

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani has mandated the timely completion of ongoing road development projects in Borivali before the monsoon season. The directive came during his inspection of various infrastructure works in the R-Central Ward (Boriwali, and Kandiwali) on December 26, 2024.

Gagrani emphasised the importance of maintaining top-notch quality in roadworks and urged engineers to frequently visit project sites to monitor progress. He also instructed that public inconvenience during the development phase should be minimized.

During his visit, the Commissioner interacted with citizens and students at Lalji Trikamji Mumbai Public School, where he appreciated the infrastructure and educational environment. He also inspected the Citizen Facilitation Center, engaging with residents and expressing satisfaction with the services offered.

The Commissioner reiterated the need to complete all road and drainage projects before the monsoon to avoid public inconvenience and ensure smooth mobility. "Timely and high-quality execution is essential to improve civic infrastructure and address the needs of Borivali residents," Gagrani stated.

The Municipal Commissioner highlighted several priority projects:

R.D.P.-10 Road in Borivali West: This road's speedy completion was called for, aiming to provide relief to local residents.

Stormwater Drainage in Borivali East: Noting recurring waterlogging issues during the monsoon near the Western Railway premises, Gagrani directed that the first phase of the stormwater drainage project be completed before the rains.

Gagrani reviewed the successful execution of several projects, including:

Road widening near Gorai Jetty.

Beautification and garden development following slum removal near Pangat Hotel.

Enhancements at Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Garden, featuring athletic tracks and landscaping.
