Mumbai Coastal Road Fire: A fire broke out at the northbound entry point of the Mumbai Coastal Road on Wednesday. December 17, 2025. The incident caused traffic disruption in the area for some time.

According to the Mumbai police the blaze was caused by a short circuit. As a safety measure, the entry point was closed for some time. Traffic heading north was diverted via Babulnath Pedder Road towards Haji Ali. Police advised commuters to follow the diversion and expect delays.

Thick smoke was reported near the tunnel area, which affected vehicular movement for a short period. About an hour later, Mumbai Traffic Police said traffic movement was restored on the route. However, the incident caused heavy traffic on Marine Drive and delayed commuters.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Firefighters and staff from the Marine Drive police station remained at the site to manage the situation and ensure public safety.  No injuries were reported in the incident.
