A man has allegedly murdered his wife to be with his lover in Mumbai's Powai apartment. He first staged the killing as a suicide, but after a thorough investigation, it was found to be an alleged contract killing. According to The Indian Express report, the accused had attempted three times to kill her, but failed.
The accused, identified as 40-year-old Sakharam Chaudhary, was arrested by Mumbai Police along with his accomplices - Shankar Dangi, Babu Gayri, and Dinesh Gayri, who were also arrested, and were hired by paying Rs 6.7 lakh for the killing of Geeta Chaudhary, 35, and staging the suicide by hanging her from a ceiling fan.

The accused Sakharam Chaudhary, a hardware shop owner resident of Sangharsh Nagar in Chandivali. The couple is having two children aged 12 and 5. The case exposes a premeditated murder disguised as suicide, uncovered through persistent investigation, said Sakinaka Police Station in charge, reported the news agency IANS.
The murder plot came to light when the victim Narangi Chaudhary's father asked for a second post-mortem of his daughter, which confirmed death due to strangulation.
