A shocking case of sexual assault has surfaced in Jogeshwari, where a minor girl was gang-raped under the pretext of help. The Jogeshwari police have arrested five accused in connection with the incident.

The police investigation revealed that the girl had reached home late, leading to an argument with her uncle. Upset by this, she left home and arrived at Jogeshwari station, where she met a boy who accompanied her to Bandra, Band Stand. After returning, she encountered five more youths who took her to Marine Drive and later to Sanjay Nagar, where the crime took place. The next morning, while the accused were at work, she left the location and started traveling between stations by train.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) found the minor at Dadar station. Due to her young appearance, officers questioned her, leading to the revelation that she had left home from Jogeshwari. Further investigation revealed a kidnapping case had already been registered. Upon learning of the sexual assault, the Jogeshwari police added relevant charges to the case.

The police have registered an FIR under sections 65(2), 70(2), 74, 351(3), 3, 5 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 4, 6,8,10 of POCSO act.

The police have registered a case against Jamal, Aftab, Mahfuz, Hasan, and Jafar and arrested them. They will be produced in court again today. However, further investigation of the case is being conducted by the police.
