The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police has made another major breakthrough in the multi-crore MDMA drug seizure case in Titwala by arresting one more drug trafficker from Uttar Pradesh. With this, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to five.

The arrested accused has been identified as Jafar. During investigation, the ANC found that the main accused, Aamir Sayyed, had supplied 3,000 MDMA pills to Jafar for further distribution. Jafar allegedly supplied the drugs across several areas in Uttar Pradesh and transferred the proceeds back to Sayyed. In return, he received a hefty commission.

After his arrest, Jafar was brought to Mumbai, where further interrogation is underway.

According to ANC officials, the main accused Sayyed had allegedly imported a consignment of 25,000 MDMA pills from the Netherlands through a Nigerian operative based in South Africa via Delhi Airport, which was later delivered to Ulhasnagar.

Police said the parcel containing 25,000 Ecstasy (MDMA) pills was dispatched from the Netherlands on August 25 last year and received on August 26 at Shri Tirupati Courier Service Pvt Ltd in Ulhasnagar.

Out of the total consignment, Sayyed allegedly handed over 5,000 pills to his live-in partner, accused Ashwini Paul, for sale, while the remaining 20,000 pills were distributed in Navi Mumbai, Vashi, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Of these, 3,000 pills were supplied to Jafar.

Before Jafar’s arrest, the ANC had already arrested Aamir Sayyed, Irfan Ansari, Ashwini Paul and Sufiyan Sheikh in connection with the case.

The ANC is now searching for the Nigerian accused and other associates linked to the international drug trafficking network.
