One such clip was shared by the Instagram page ‘Andheriloca’, showing the blaze erupting in a cluster of huts situated along SV Road in Oshiwara’s commercial area. The footage captured thick plumes of smoke spreading quickly across the neighbourhood, indicating that several structures within the densely populated settlement may have been affected. The exact reason behind the fire has not been confirmed so far, and authorities are still assessing the situation.
Officials have not yet issued a formal statement about the incident. Information regarding the scale of destruction or whether anyone sustained injuries remains unavailable at this stage. The development surfaced only hours after another major fire incident occurred at a chemical manufacturing unit in the Anandnagar MIDC industrial area of Ambernath on Monday. That blaze reportedly triggered several explosions, causing panic among residents living in surrounding neighbourhoods. The back-to-back fire incidents have raised fresh concerns about safety measures in densely populated and industrial zones across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Initial reports indicate that the fire in Ambernath began at Ganesh Chemical Company, a facility situated in the Anandnagar MIDC industrial belt. The situation soon worsened after chemicals stored inside the factory caught fire, resulting in multiple powerful explosions. These blasts intensified the flames and created panic in nearby residential and industrial areas. Workers and residents in the vicinity rushed out of buildings as loud explosions echoed across the area. The presence of large quantities of chemical materials within the premises made the situation increasingly dangerous and difficult to control during the initial stages of the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest that the blaze started abruptly within the factory premises and spread rapidly in a matter of minutes.
