Mumbai: A major fire broke out at the Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Thursday, April 9 evening. A thick layer of smoke can be seen surrounded the airport area, causing significant panic among the locals.
According to reports the primary cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit. The incident occurred during the pick evening hours, fortunately no injuries reported. Fire confined to ground floor of ground plus 03 floored structure. MFB declared Level –LI at around 7:05 pm.
On Thursday 09 April 2026, a minor fire was reported at Terminal 1 due to a short circuit at 18:10 hrs. The fire was immediately bought under control by the emergency response teams within minutes. Airport operations remain unaffected. -CSMIA Spokesperson
