A huge fire broke out in a 57-story high-rise building in Mumbai's Byculla East area on Friday morning, February 28. After receiving the information, five fire brigades reached the spot and engaged in firefighting operations. According to the information, the blaze erupted on the 42nd floor of the building. No injuries have been reported so far in the incident.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the blaze erupted at the building named Salsette Building situated near New Grade Insta Mill on BA Road in Byculla East. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the emergency call at around  10.45 am, prompting MFB to declare a Level-1 (minor) fire.

A video shared on the social media platform X shows flames with huge clouds of black smoke coming out from one of the building's floors.

According to the information, firefighting operations are currently underway. Five Fire Engines, three Jawan Trucks, an Aerial Water Tower Tender (AWTT), a Breathing Apparatus (BA) van, High-Pressure pumps (HP), a High-Reach Foam Fire Vehicle (HRFFV), and two ambulances are at the spot working to rescue residents.
