A minor fire broke out on a wall at a platform of Churchgate railway station in south Mumbai on Friday night, March 7, due to a short circuit. The blaze erupted on platform number one of the station around 11 pm, a fire brigade official told the news agency PTI.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the fire incident. After being alerted, fire tenders were rushed to the scene, and the fire was doused. Due to the fire incident, there was no delay in local train services on any of the Central, Harbour, and Western lines. All trains are running as per the schedule.

The fire was confined to the electric wiring on the platform wall. Churchgate station is a terminus of the Western Railway’s Mumbai suburban network.
