In a shocking incident reported from the Wadala area, a 29-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following a dispute over alcohol consumption. The deceased has been identified as Kavita Ramesh Lodi alias Kavita Mahesh Wad.

According to police, the accused husband, Mahesh Narayan Wad, brutally assaulted Kavita with kicks and punches after an argument broke out between the couple. Kavita, who sustained severe injuries in the attack, later died during treatment at KEM Hospital due to the lack of timely medical care.

The post-mortem report revealed that Kavita had been subjected to inhuman assault, with her entire body bearing black and blue marks, indicating severe physical abuse.

Police have registered a case of murder against Mahesh Wad at Wadala Police Station. The accused is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.

As per the complaint, Kavita’s brother, Shubham Ramesh Lodi, a resident of Nerul in Navi Mumbai and originally from Murud in Raigad district, informed the police about the incident. Kavita was married to Mahesh Wad, and the couple resided in Ganesh Nagar near Ganesh Mandir in Wadala.

Investigations revealed that Mahesh was addicted to alcohol, and frequent arguments used to occur between the couple over his drinking habits. On March 13 at around 2 pm, Mahesh allegedly returned home in an intoxicated state, which led to another heated argument.

In a fit of rage, he allegedly thrashed Kavita mercilessly and even hurled a mobile phone at her face, causing serious injuries. Despite her critical condition, Mahesh failed to take her for immediate medical treatment, which worsened her health.

Kavita later collapsed at home and was rushed to KEM Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Following the post-mortem findings, Shubham lodged a complaint accusing Mahesh of murdering his sister. Based on the complaint, police have registered a murder case and declared the accused as wanted. A search operation is currently underway to apprehend him.
