A disturbing incident has come to light involving the alleged molestation of a 23-year-old Australian national by a 32-year-old van driver on Saturday night while transporting her to a ship docked at Mumbai Port Trust. The accused, identified as Anil Sharanappa Kamble, has been arrested by the police.

According to police reports, the incident took place at 11:35 p.m. inside the Green Gate area of Mumbai Port Trust (BPT). The Yellow Gate Police registered a complaint on Sunday at 7:52 a.m. under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for assaulting a woman and outraging her modesty.

Kamble allegedly pulled the Royal Australian Navy personnel towards him as she boarded a Tempo Traveller near a New Zealand vessel docked at the port. However, it remains unclear whether other passengers were present at the time of the incident. Kamble, a resident of Jai Bhavani Chawl in Kandivali, was presented in court and remanded to one-day police custody.
