The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has presented a massive rs 40,000 crore budget, with a major focus on infrastructure development. A whopping rs 35,000 crore has been earmarked for various large-scale projects aimed at enhancing Mumbai’s urban landscape.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized the financial preparedness for these projects, stating, "Since we have undertaken such large-scale projects, we have certainly made financial preparations, ensuring financial closure. We have also decided on additional FSI (Floor Space Index), which will provide significant financial support and backup to MMRDA."
The budget allocation is expected to fuel key infrastructure developments, including metro rail expansion, road networks, flyovers, and urban planning initiatives. With Mumbai’s rapid growth, the MMRDA’s budgetary push aims to enhance connectivity and ease congestion, ultimately improving the quality of life for residents.
