Mumbai Local Train Update: Central Line Services Delayed After Empty Rake Derails Near Dombivli Station
Several local trains were delayed in the Central Line on Monday morning, April 20, after a coach of an empty suburban train rake derailed near Dombivli railway station. The incident occurred at around 8:09 am when the rake was moving from Kalwa Car Shed towards Kalyan, according to Central Railway (CR).
As the train was empty at the time, no injuries were reported in the following incident, but trains on the Up line were delayed for more than 15 minutes. According to information, at least three local train stuck on the line.

Railway officials and technical teams rushed to the spot to carry out restoration work, and officials said efforts were underway to normalise services.

Meanwhile, one of the passengers on M-Indicator reported that the derailment impacted slow trains on the Central Line between Dombivli and Thakurli. Services have since resumed but continue to run behind schedule.
As per passenger updates, fast line services from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kalyan are running on time, while slow line trains are delayed by around 6 minutes. In the Kalyan to CSMT direction, fast trains are delayed by about 9 minutes and slow services by nearly 16 minutes.
Central Railway (CR) Divisional Railway Manager said due to EMU rake derailment at Dombivli station Down slow Line train services are currently affected between Diva & Kalyan.
"Down slow line services are running on diverted route via Down fast line from Diva to Kalyan," CR DRM in a post on X.
Due to empty EMU rake derailment at Dombivli station, Down slow Line train services are currently affected between Diva & Kalyan since 08.09 hrs.

"Our technical team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore normal train operations at the earliest between Diva to Kalyan section DN slow line. Passengers are requested to kindly bear with us for the inconvenience caused," further started.
A video shared on social media platform Instagram shows huge crowd at the platform waiting for the local train at the Dombivli Railway Station. It can also be noticed that a local train was stranded at the station, where passengers were seen jumping out of the halted train.
