Mumbai’s busy morning commute was severely disrupted on Monday after a technical snag in the overhead wire affected services on the Mumbai Harbour Line between Kharghar and Nerul. Local trains operating from Panvel towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus were delayed by more than 30 minutes, causing chaos during peak hours. Thousands of commuters were left stranded on overcrowded platforms and inside halted trains as railway authorities deployed repair teams to fix the issue and restore normal services at the earliest.

Amid the disruption, commuters turned to the m-Indicator app to seek real-time updates, highlighting confusion and a lack of clear communication. Several passengers questioned whether key services like CSMT–Goregaon trains were cancelled, while others enquired about Panvel–CSMT routes, AC train movement, and train movements at stations such as Wadala Road, Belapur, and Kharghar. Many also asked about train locations and expected delays, reflecting widespread uncertainty.

Suburban train services in the UP Harbour line section were disrupted on April 5 due to a technical problem with the OHE (Overhead equipment) wire between Seawoods Darave and Juinagar. The services were disrupted on the harbour line from 8:00 pm and were restored around 10:00 pm on the same day.
