The Western Railway has introduced a new facility for travellers who travel over 200 kilometers on non-suburban sections. Now they can book unreserved tickets up to three days in advance (excluding the day of travel).

Western Railway aims to streamline the ticketing process for its travellers. Huge crowd gathers at the booking counter during peak travel season and this initiative aims to reduce crowding at the booking counters.

Shri Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, in a recent press release mentioned that this provision is available at all Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters.

The department noted that many passengers are unaware of this facility. Shri Vineet Abhishek mentioned that they are taking all the necessary measures to increase awareness and encourage travellers to utilise this facility.

He also said that this move will benefit people who undertake long-distance train journeys as this will allow them to plan their travel in advance and avoid the inconvenience of last minute ticket booking.

With this western Railway is trying to have more enhanced ticketing options.
