Keeping the early April holiday rush and peak tourist season in mind, Konkan Railway has decided to operate special train services between Mumbai and Madgaon. These additional trains are expected to bring significant relief to passengers planning to travel to the Konkan region and Goa, as demand for tickets usually rises sharply during this period. The initiative aims to ease congestion on regular services and ensure smoother travel for holidaymakers. With improved connectivity and added convenience, these special trains will help accommodate the increased number of passengers and tourists heading towards popular coastal destinations.

Train number 01129, the Mumbai CSMT–Madgaon Junction special, will depart from CSMT at 12:20 am on April 3 and April 5. The train will halt at multiple stations along its route before reaching Madgaon Junction at 3:15 pm on the same day. For the return journey, train number 01130, the Madgaon Junction–CSMT special, will leave Madgaon at 4:00 pm on April 3 and April 5. It will arrive at Mumbai’s CSMT at 3:45 am the following day, offering a convenient overnight travel option for passengers returning from Goa and nearby regions.
