Mulund police have arrested a man who committed burglaries in five houses to gather funds for his wedding. Before he could escape via flight, the police apprehended him. The accused had targeted a residential building named Marathon Eminence in Mulund. Based on a complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested the accused from Thane, where he was hiding in a rented room.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Rajesh Rajbhar (32), a resident of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He had committed thefts in closed houses in Chembur, Mulund, Bhandup, and Ulwe by breaking their locks. After stealing valuables, he was waiting for the right opportunity to dispose of the stolen goods. However, the police received a tip-off, tracked him down, and arrested him.

Upon his arrest, the police recovered 28 tolas of gold worth ₹14 lakh and 2 kg of silver ornaments worth ₹1.50 lakh from him.

As per police sources, Rajbhar’s wedding was fixed, and he needed money for the expenses. Earlier, he had carried out several thefts to accumulate money. This time, he aimed to steal from multiple houses to gather a larger sum. However, while staying in a chawl in Thane and executing his burglary plans, he fell into the police's net.

An officer revealed that the accused traveled to Mumbai by flight and left the same day after committing thefts. However, this time, while trying to sell the stolen jewelry, he got trapped. Just when he was about to book a flight ticket to escape to his village, the police nabbed him.

Interestingly, Rajbhar’s brother-in-law is also in police custody in Solapur for a theft case. The police are investigating whether the two had a connection and operated together. Meanwhile, after being produced in court, Rajbhar has been remanded to police custody, and further investigations are underway.
