Mumbai police have registered a case against a man for allegedly outraging the modesty of his estranged wife by sending her obscene messages. The complainant, who had been living separately due to marital disputes, approached the Amboli police station and filed a complaint against her husband. Following her complaint, the police have registered a case under relevant sections and initiated an investigation.

According to the police, the 42-year-old complainant resides on Veera Desai Road in Andheri with her mother and son. She works for a private company and had been living separately from her husband for the past ten years due to domestic disputes.

In 2021, she had filed a case of domestic violence against her husband. However, considering their son's future, she decided to withdraw the case in 2024. As part of the agreement, she submitted a consent letter in court, after which her husband agreed to pay her ₹15,000 per month. Despite this commitment, he failed to make the payments, and the woman had been following up with him repeatedly, but he did not respond.

On Sunday, February 23, the accused allegedly sent an obscene and abusive message to his wife, also threatening her. Disturbed by this, the woman approached the Amboli police and filed a complaint against him. Taking the matter seriously, the police registered a case of outraging a woman's modesty and have begun their investigation.

Police officials have assured that they will soon question the accused and take necessary action.
