A 20-year-old man was killed in a violent attack in Mahim on May 14 following a dispute triggered by a derogatory comment. The deceased, Sahil Javed Khan, was allegedly assaulted by six individuals after one of them insulted him by calling him a drunkard. The confrontation quickly escalated from a verbal exchange into a physical assault. Police said the incident created panic in the early morning hours in the locality. The altercation reportedly began near S.L. Raheja Hospital on Raheja Road, where the victim was seen before the fatal attack took place. The police are investigating the exact sequence of events leading to the crime and recording statements.
According to police, the situation worsened after an argument when Yasmin Shaikh allegedly contacted five associates to the spot. They were identified as Muzaffar Shaikh, Muzaffar Yaqub Sayyed alias Mujju, Saddam Bhima Atke, Farhan Ansari, and Hasan Sayyed, who allegedly surrounded Sahil Khan and assaulted him with kicks and punches.
