Mumbai, Maharashtra (April 2, 2025): A suspect detained from Chhattisgarh in connection with the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case has approached the Bombay High Court. Akash Kanojia has filed a defamation suit against the Home Ministry. He is seeking ₹1 crore in compensation. Mumbai Police had arrested him from Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh. According to Akash, police action ruined his life. His wedding was called off. His relatives distanced themselves from him. He said his family members stopped speaking to him. This caused him severe mental distress. Earlier, Akash had spoken about the impact of the police action against him in the Saif Ali Khan case. Though the police later released him, he said the damage had already been done.

A few days ago, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife at night. He suffered serious injuries. Following the attack, police detained Akash Kanojia as a suspect.

"Lost His Job and Wedding Was Called Off"

"Mumbai Police took my son into custody without verifying his identity. This mistake has destroyed his life. Now Akash is mentally disturbed. He is unable to focus on work. He barely talks to his family. He lost his job. His wedding was called off. Who is responsible for this? The police have ruined his future," said Kailash Kanojia.
