A shocking incident of sexual assault on a 17-year-old minor girl by her own friend has come to light in the Sakinaka area after the victim was found to be pregnant. Sakinaka Police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Ravi, under charges of sexual assault and various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused has been declared absconding, and a manhunt has been launched to trace him.

According to the police, the victim resides with her family in the Sakinaka area and is currently a college student. The accused Ravi, who is also a resident of the same locality, was in a romantic relationship with the minor girl for the past few months. In October last year, Ravi’s family had gone to their native place in Uttar Pradesh, leaving him alone at home.

Taking advantage of the situation, between October 1 and October 31, 2025, Ravi allegedly brought the minor girl to his house. There, he reportedly established physical proximity and sexually assaulted her against her will. He also allegedly pressured her not to disclose the incident to anyone.

The matter came to light recently when the girl started experiencing severe abdominal pain and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that she was pregnant. Upon receiving this information, Sakinaka Police rushed to the hospital and recorded the victim’s statement, which revealed the entire incident.

Based on her complaint, police registered an offence against Ravi under sections related to sexual assault and the POCSO Act. As the accused fled after the incident, he has been declared a wanted accused, and police are conducting a search operation to apprehend him.

Meanwhile, the victim has been admitted to Cooper Hospital for medical treatment, police officials confirmed.
