On May 1, the southbound carriageway of the Thane Creek Bridge and the final section of the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway, which runs 76 kilometres from Igatpuri to Amane, are anticipated to be opened, which is good news for travellers. Anil Gaikwad, managing director of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), stated in an HT report that both projects are prepared for inauguration and that, when they are opened, they will greatly enhance connectivity to Navi Mumbai, Pune, and the soon-to-be Navi Mumbai International Airport.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was in charge when the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway was conceived. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the first phase, which connected Nagpur and Shirdi, in December 2022. In May 2023, then-chief minister Eknath Shinde officially opened the second phase, which ran from Shirdi to Bharvir in Nashik. The third phase, which runs from Bharvir to Igatpuri, was officially opened by Dada Bhuse, the MSRDC Minister at the time, in March 2024.

The renowned Taraporewala Aquarium on Marine Drive, a significant component of Mumbai's history and a popular tourist destination, is about to undergo a comprehensive renovation. The aquarium, which has been closed since the COVID-19 outbreak, will now be converted into a top-notch marine institution. A huge renovation project valued at Rs 296 crore has been authorised by the Maharashtra government. State Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane told PTI that the Taraporewala Aquarium, a historic landmark of Mumbai, will be used as a centre for marine research and education in addition to being a popular tourist destination.
