Senior NCP leader from Ajit Pawar faction and former MLA Zeeshan Baba Siddiqui has reportedly received a death threat through email. The threatening mail warned Siddiqui of facing the same fate as his father, late Baba Siddiqui.

Following the threat, Mumbai Police swung into action and initiated a probe. As per sources, the email was sent in the name of the underworld syndicate D-Company. A police team immediately reached Zeeshan Siddiqui’s residence to record his statement.

DCP Nimit Goel confirming the news said that former MLA Shri Zeeshan Baba Siddiqui has received a threatening email. Bandra Police Station is in the process of filing an FIR.

Bandra Police is currently carrying out a detailed investigation. It is worth mentioning that Zeeshan Siddiqui’s father and former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddiqui, was murdered last year — a crime in which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was allegedly involved. Since the incident, security for the Siddiqui family has been tightened.
