In a major crackdown, the Kurar Police Station has detained four Bangladeshi nationals who were allegedly residing illegally within its jurisdiction.

Acting on a specific tip-off, the police conducted a joint operation along with the ATC team in the Pathanwadi area of Malad East on February 2, 4 and 6, 2026. According to police officials, information was received that some Bangladeshi nationals were living in the area using forged identities.

Speaking on the matter, Senior Police Inspector Sanjeev Tawade of Kurar Police said that upon reaching the spot, the team detained four suspects. During interrogation, all four individuals admitted to being Bangladeshi nationals.

Preliminary investigation led to the seizure of important documents linked to Bangladeshi citizenship, including:

Permanent Residence Certificate of Bangladesh

Citizenship Certificate

Bangladesh National ID Cards

The arrested accused have been identified as:

Tahir Jamal Sardar (30)

Mohammad Abdul Momin Mohammad Latif (52)

Nazrul Islam Sher Ali Biswas (41)

Mohammad Ismail Haq Mohammad Tahir Rahman (46)

All four were residing in the Pathanwadi area of Malad East and were reportedly engaged in different occupations.

Police investigations have revealed that the accused had entered India without valid documents and had been staying in the country for a considerable period. The process to deport them to their native country, Bangladesh, has been initiated.

Authorities are currently taking steps to obtain the necessary Restriction Order from the concerned officials to facilitate their deportation, police said.
