One security guard died, and another was injured in a fire that broke out in the high-rise building Neelkanth Kingdom Complex, located near Vidyavihar Station in Mumbai. The blaze was reported at around 4.35 AM on Monday, March 24, and was classified as a Level II fire by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).

According to reports, the fire was confined to the electric wiring, installations, household articles, wooden furniture, an air conditioning unit, and clothing within five flats on the first and second floors of the 13-story building. Additionally, wooden wall fittings and shoe racks in the lobby areas were also affected.

A total of 15-20 residents were safely rescued from the building. However, two individuals said to be security guards were injured in the incident, and one of them was declared dead at the Rajawadi Hospital.  The victims, both security guards identified as Uday Gang (42) and Sabhajit Yadav (52).

Gangan was reported dead upon arrival at the hospital with 100% burns, while Sabhajit Yadav suffered approximately 25-30% burns but is currently in stable condition. The fire was brought under control by 7:33 AM, with firefighting teams working diligently to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of all residents. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
